Prime Minister: We are not breaking the economy, not having negative growth is a very big endeavor

On August 28, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Head of the Socio-Economic Subcommittee to prepare the XIII National Party Congress, presides over the 6th plenary session of the subcommittee at the Government Headquarters.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister affirmed our national spirit, especially in difficult times, is great. At present, the world and Vietnam both encounter obstacles in development. Therefore, we need to innovate in order to overcome difficulties and develop the country in the coming time.

Once again, the Prime Minister also emphasized on the realization of our country's dual goals in 2020, both drastically preventing epidemics and restoring socio-economic development.

Prime Minister stated that, in the context of global and regional difficulties, we do not break the economy, no negative growth is a great effort. This is the momentum of economic development in the coming time. This is also the proof of the right direction and drastic measures to prevent epidemics and restore socio-economic of the whole political system, business community and people nationwide.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the theme of Strategy. Specifically, by 2030, Vietnam is a developing country with modern industrialization, in the upper group of middle-income countries. By 2045, Vietnam strives to become a developed country with modern industries and high income.

At the same time, the Prime Minister also asked to increase the resistance, equip the country and the people with resilience and readiness to respond to epidemics, natural disasters and climate change that cause severe consequences in the future. .

The last problem is economic restructuring, growth model renewal, digital economic development under new normal conditions due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The new trends are both opportunities and challenges, Prime Minister said. In a rapidly changing world, we need to be more sensitive and agile in governance.
