According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, SI is considered to be an important sector in economic restructuring, increasing value added and competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy. The number of enterprises operating in supporting industries currently accounts for nearly 4.5% of the total number of enterprises in the processing and manufacturing industry. It is undeniable that the supporting industry in Vietnam has made certain progress, playing an important role in participating in the global supply chain as well as the global value chain.

However, in order to anticipate and grasp opportunities in the current global integration context, the supporting industry in Vietnam today still has many points that need to be improved, accordingly, the general situation of the supporting industry in Vietnam today is the scale. and the capacity of enterprises is still limited, production capacity is very low, lack of resources and technology to improve productivity, human resources have not met the requirements. The size and competitiveness of enterprises are still weak, not enough to participate deeply in the supply chain and global production.
In order to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese industrial enterprises, IDC continues to implement "Consulting program to support CNHT enterprises to become a supplier in the mechanical, automotive and electronic production chain" implemented in In November 2020, the program successfully provided field training for 25 Vietnamese enterprises across the country, selected based on the suitability, potentiality and commitment of each enterprise.
